What to do in case of heat?

It does not happen often that it is hot in the Netherlands like the past few days, but for those living in the Netherlands, as soon as the temperatures rises above 20 degrees we find it a little less comfortable. - This is probably because we are not accustomed to such temperatures and are therefore not well prepared. In addition to avoiding sun as much as possible, drink a lot water and other well-known tips, we have a number of handy skincare hacks that you can use during warmer days in the Netherlands.

Start your day well

Use light, airy layers of products on hot days in the morning or try the 7-skin method, and always end your morning skin care with sun protection. Especially on warmer days you will need this. Most people probably think that this will make their face even more oily, but the opposite is true, if you use the correct products.

At the drugstores in the Netherlands, there are many different sunscreens to be found, pay attention to whether it is suitable for the face and preferably avoid formulas that have an oil-like, sticky and thick texture. Choose a sunscreen that feels more like a light moisturizer.
A good sunscreen not only protects your face, but also ensures that your face will be less heated by the sun, making it feel irritated and turn red.

Cool off during the day

Take your favorite sun cream for your face in your bag and use it when you feel that your face is getting a little warm / red.
Also bring along a facial mist to spritz your face and body when the heat is too much. Or make your own facial mist using your favorite toner like the Son & Park Beauty Water or Iunik's Rose Galactomyces Toner.

Calm your skin down on returning home

In the evening, apply a soothing sheet mask directly from the refrigerator to the face to cool off and calm down your skin that has been heated up by the sun. This is not only delightful, but it also reduces the sun's damage to your skin. And use the calming Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel from Benton afterwards to soothe, protect and moisturize the skin.
